Like most other large tech firms Belkin came into being in 1983 when Chet Pipkin's began working from his parents garage making his own PC to printer cables, the cables were much eaiser to use and there was a larger variety compared to what was availble on the market at the time. Today Belkin is a privatly held company with Pipkin's as the Chairman and their headoffice based in Playa Vista, California, the company generates sales to the tune of $1 billion.
